The photograph in several of yesterdays newspapers of Prince Edward lashing out, at 2 labrador dogs, with a big stick shocked me. I have generally been a supporter of the royals, despite their love of blood sports which I dislike. However anyone who knows anything about labradors will know that there is no need to hit them, let alone with a big stick. They love to please and if two of them were arguing over who had the pheasant it was because both wanted to please their owner by bringing him his kill. An angry word from him would have stopped them in their tracks.
If there is evidence that his stick connected with one of those dogs then he should be prosecuted. I dont care who he is.
